It was the time of the year for Foodie’s Festival, Brighton again which is always such a treat as not only do I get to go to a brilliant food festival but I love going to Brighton for the atmosphere, be beside the sea and all the amazing independent food places too or and of course the pic n mix!

In fact my first stop of the day was at Caramella’s where I somehow, quite easily actually, filled a £5 bag full of my favourite pic n mix before heading off down the little lanes to the Foodie’s Festival.

The Foodie’s Festival is the UK’s biggest celebration of food, drink and wellbeing. The festival brings with it the best Michelin star chefs and MasterChef winners cooking their favourite recipes and giving visiting their top tips.

It was great to see a lot of new products and stalls this year as well as some favourites from last year such as Betsy’s bakes cakes, which were as delicious as ever.

brighton foodies festivalBetsy Carrot Cake La saucy salsa I can’t think of a better way to spend a bank holiday than surrounded by lots of food, music, sun and sea and that is exactly what Brighton Foodies Festival offered up last weekend! The UK’s largest celebration of food & drink returned last Saturday with a fantastic line up of top chefs including Matt Gillan, Stephen Crane and Adam Simmonds. Maz and I headed down on Sunday, arriving in the early afternoon to an already buzzing and busy festival. I attended the Kenwood Foodies Festival in 2014 which was a fabulous day out however there’s something a little magical with having a food festival by the sea. The big double decker bus bar was back serving lots of delicious beverages and opportunity to go upstairs and chill out on the comfy sofas. Pimms served their delicious fruity drink from a big pink teapot and there was a pirate ship serving mojitos and other rum cocktails.

051050013The weekend just gone was a lovely weekend with lots of food, fun and lack of sun! Last Friday night I caught up with my girl mates and we had a great night consisting of lots of food and Magic Mike! I had actually seen Magic Mike only a few weeks ago but nothing beats watching it with 6 other girls. We all screamed and laughed so much at the dance routines especially at Matthew McConaughey in his tight shorts and crop top! The seven of us sat around a round table laid out with bowls filled with bacon bits, cheese, olives and sun-blushed tomatoes and were then served pesto pasta. It’s something I never have too often but it really is just such a delicious dish especially with all the added bits. Not only that but we had it with pizza bread, wine and some strawberry cheesecake with ice cream for dessert. Stuffed after that? Pretty much but we still managed to fit in some popcorn too. I love these nights, we hadn’t done it in ages and to be honest it was probably more fun than going out plus I didn’t have a hangover on Saturday. Double bonus!
